With the decision made to take the next step in my career and dig into a full time career opportunity in product, you may be asking… what’s happening with my current projects/companies?
Geek Estate Blog — nothing is changing. I’ll still write about real estate products, services, and industry dynamics that peak my personal curiosity. Remember, I’m not a reporter. If I end up taking a career opportunity outside the industry, the honest truth is the blog will get even more interesting since I’ll have zero financial interest in the industry (and thus won’t be worried about pissing people off that could be potential consulting clients). If I take a job within real estate, chance are extremely high you’ll see me writing more about whoever my employer ends up being.
Horizon — I still believe the mission matters, screen addiction is detrimental to society, and community changes lives. Therefore, I’ll continue to fund operational expenses out of my own pocket. We’ve made significant product updates the past few months to build out a “groups pro” offering for community builders, and have a crowdfunding page on Patreon if you’re interested in helping Horizon continue to grow and develop as a product/company.
Oh Hey World — I actually made the final decision to pull the plug on Oh Hey World earlier this spring. You can see a couple product demo videos at the Oh Hey World landing page if you’re curious. Note the whole platform is open source.
