Facebook and Careers
I agree that the Facebook Timeline will impact your career going forward. But, is it just me, or are you tired of spending all this effort “optimizing” all these social platforms? There are only so many hours to spend with social media. I think I need to spend more time with this blog…not spend more time enhancing my presence Facebook. Luckily, I have some degree of confidence that Facebook will make intuitive decisions and enhance my timeline automatically. That’s my hope at least.
Disqus Rocks
I’ve been using disqus on Geek Estate Blog for a few years now, and love the email moderation feature in particular. No clue why it took me so long to install disqus comments on this blog, but I the wait is over (for those of you who have been waiting).
Another SEO Spammer
I just got some more SPAM from an SEO named Deejay Colin. And it ended with this: In order for us to respond to your request for information, please include your company’s website address (mandatory) and /or phone number. Really? I’m pretty sure if your spidering software can pick up my email address from my website, it can pick up the URL it gathered it from. Oh yea – and doing a google search for “Deejay Colin seo” produces zero results. Remind me again – why would I want to pay this guy for SEO? #fail
Great and Small Minds, and the Republic Debate
I’ve always loved this quote from Eleanor Roosevelt (check my quotes page): Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people. I’m watching the Republican Debate right now on Fox News — yet all I hear is “Obama this” and “Obama that”, along with pointless bickering back and forth between Perry and Romney. I’m not really hearing any ideas actually discussed. You can make your own conclusions…
