Becoming an A-List Blogger

Just randomly thinking tonight whether Jason Calcanis‘ advice from a couple years ago to becoming an “A-List blogger” still holds true? The advice was:

  • Go to Techememe
  • Blog something intelligent about the top story of the day
  • Link to and mention all the people who have said something intelligent
  • Repeat for 30 days
  • Go to a couple conferences a month
  • You’re an A-list blogger.

I just found an entire membership site revolving around becoming an A-List Blogger, so maybe there is a little more to it?

What do you think? Is it still that easy? What does “a-list blogger” mean anyway?

What got me thinking about this? I don’t know. Call it a random Sunday evening.

How big do you think this list of A list bloggers is? 10 people? 20?

Gary V, Chris Brogan, Guy Kawasaki, Perez Hilton, Robert Scoble, Seth Godin, Arriana Huffington, Darren Rowse ?

    (Rand Fishkin, Matt Cutts?)

Sounds too easy, but I guess the proof is in trying it!

Not as easy as it sounds

    Geordie-
I don’t think the “A” list is that big. I think it’s 20 tops in each industry. I think there is a huge “B” list though.

    Kirsten, and Mark-
Yea, seriously. Being a true a-list does not come easy or quickly. I can’t believe (well actually I can) that there is an entire membership site dedicated to being an “A” list blogger.
