Tungle.me Acquired by RIM

I’m a big fan of Tungle.me since Jim clued me into their scheduling platform. But all great things must come to an end I guess. And today Tungle.me announced they have been acquired by RIM. This is the funny part from their announcement email I received this morning: Today, we’re excited to announce that Tungle has been acquired by RIM. What does this mean for you? It means that Tungle is about to get even better. Does anyone believe that? How often do startups get BETTER after they are acquired? It does happen, but it’s not the norm. I wish it were true. But I’m not holding my breath.

Living Up To, and Reaching, Your Full Potential

The topic Darin at Productivity Junkies covers today is a good one — “Are you living up to your full potential?“. On that same topic, I’d recommend watching this short video I posted a couple months ago. Don’t be one of those people meandering around life without any idea about why you are doing what you are doing. PS, the movie Darin mentions — Limitless — looks awesome; it’s on my short list.

Becoming an A-List Blogger

Just randomly thinking tonight whether Jason Calcanis‘ advice from a couple years ago to becoming an “A-List blogger” still holds true? The advice was: Go to Techememe Blog something intelligent about the top story of the day Link to and mention all the people who have said something intelligent Repeat for 30 days Go to a couple conferences a month You’re an A-list blogger. I just found an entire membership site revolving around becoming an A-List Blogger, so maybe there is a little more to it? What do you think? Is it still that easy? Google Offers is a Branding Mistake

Personally, I don’t understand “Google Offers” from a branding perspective (TechCrunch article on Google Offers). If they want to take on Groupon (and we all know they do) – they should build a new brand from scratch to give it a chance to succeed. Google is known for SEARCH; not deals. Overcoming that is going to be challenging, and I don’t get why they’d try. But that’s just me.
