Greatness Requires Failure
Yes, this commercial is worth watching again and again even if you’ve seen it a hundred times already (I’m probably approaching that number). I write about the commercial back in 2008, but thanks to Jay Thompson for bringing it to my attention again.
Seattle RETweetUp on Wednesday at Latona Pub
Though I’m not really a fan of the “The Drew Meyers Tweetup” name, it is true that I will be at Latona Pub on Wednesday from 6 to 8 for a Tweetup of real estate folks. It’s certainly going to be weird to be with the Seattle real estate crew at a tweetup without David Gibbons, especially considering the location will be a few blocks from his old apartment in Greenlake — but I guess we’ll all just have to tough it out. If you want to meet for drinks (or amazing food), you can RSVP here or just stop by. Look forward to seeing you Wednesday!
I’m Joining Virtual Results Full Time to Run Marketing
Yup, today is my first day working full time after having been abroad for the last 7 months. I couldn’t be more excited at the opportunity to run marketing for Jim Marks at Virtual Results. If you follow my blog, you likely know that I’ve been working with Jim Marks in a part time capacity over the past 8 months during the course of my travels. The majority of my time working with Jim has been for his other company, YouReach Media. However, I’m now shifting gears a bit and going full time with Virtual Results. We’re working on an entirely new killer product offering which I’ll be overseeing that will make Virtual Results relevant to a … Continue reading
Happy Thanksgiving
Be thankful for everything that you have; most of the world is not so lucky to enjoy the luxuries of the Westernized world. Now go visit with family, get off the computer, and enjoy some turkey!

After being gone so long, I can’t wait to watch an NBA game again.
My Thoughts After Devouring Open, Andre Agassi’s Autobiography
I’ve always been a fan of autobiographies, and Open: An Autobiography by Andre Agassi (amazon affiliate link) was no different. In fact, this one was one of the more captivating ones I’ve read to date. I’ll admit, I’ve never been an avid or even casual follower of the game of tennis. I actually can’t even remember the last tennis match I watched, but guessing it’s been about 5 years, though I do remember watching some epic US open matches I stumbled across on television growing up – and at least a few Agassi-Sampras matches. Regardless, I completed the first page of Open yesterday around noon and finished the last page mid morning today; less than … Continue reading
Words of Resistance
I just came across the Words of Resistance blog as a result of reading this post on Global Voice Online. The blog was started by Chantal Flores, who teaches at a middle school in Zapotitlán Palmas, a town in Oaxaca, Mexico. From their about page: This blog is a space for stories written by students from Zapotitlán’s middle school (grade 7-9) who are transforming their reality word by word. It seems like a very cool project, and one I think could easily be expanding to other geographic areas and being used to bring more awareness to the issues students face all over the globe on a daily basis.
