Congrats to SkillSlate for Raising $1.1 Million

Congrats to my buddy Brian and the entire Skillslate team for securing their first round of funding of $1.1 million. The site helps people find local services such as NYC movers & dog walkers. I first met Brian during my early Zillow days while he worked at Yahoo! Real Estate; he was my day to day contact for the Zillow-YRE! partnership formed in 2006 and we’ve remained in touch ever since. The local services area that Skillslate is targeting is a niche with tremendous upside, and it’s extremely smart to tackle one city (in this case, NYC) to really figure out the product & business model before expanding into other geographic areas.

Looking forward to seeing their next iterations with an additional $1.1 million in the bank.
