Zillow Coverage - Day 2

By Drew Meyers | December 7, 2006

So, you’ve probably heard, Zillow launched some new features last night. I just woke up and it looks like blog chatter is going full steam. I kept track of stories last night and I’ll be adding links to this post as I have time today, so here we go (times noted are when I updated the post):

Update at 6:18 PM: Well everyone, it was fun. As much as I’d love to continue tracking everything, I’m beat after a long & hectic day at the office. For now, I’m going to go eat dinner and crash…and maybe read a couple tech blogs (Z-ed out for now).

Drew, thanks for the comment on my blog. The main reason I couldn’t find the Zestimate after searching for a while is probably simply because my listing will pull up - just gives a generic Site Error.

However, I still think you need to reword your email especially. Something like “We’ve generated a Zestimate for your home here” (linked to my listing). Then “To find out more about Zestimates, come over to our HowTo section” (linked to the howto article). Otherwise, I’m really still lost, and that’s what my post was about.

Site does look nice and I think it has a lot of useful features - just needs some debugging and rethinking on some directions.

Wow, Drew, I sincerely hope the higher ups at the newfound goliath that is zillow, appreciate all the rediculous amounts of free publicity that your direct efforts just got them, on their huge move to take over the Real Estate market.

[...]     So I think this is priority number one for Zillow, making it easier to get the listings up and running.  Zillow hasn’t made any wrong moves yet so I’m sure there is a whole team of people working on it.And for anyone who still hasn’t heard about the most interesting thing to happen this year in internet real estate.  Please see my previous post, the ZillowBlog or follow this link to DrewMeyers extensive list of responses.
