I don’t have much to add to this conversation (there are over 100 comments), but it’s a hillarious rant by John Battelle about what a piece of crap Comcast’s HD DVR is.

When you Google “Comcast HD DVR,” Battelle’s post ranks number 3 (after only 2 days), which really demonstrates how great blogs are at SEO. I’m sure Comcast isn’t too pleased with this chain of events- but welcome to a world where companies don’t control their brand. Consumers now largely control a companies brand, which benefits the consumer in the long run. If I were Comcast, I would be doing whatever it takes to please John Battelle. This is a big win for Tivo- though, based on the comments, it seems all consumers already know how great Tivo is.
